|
|
Hi,
I'm planning to evaluate FirstSpot on my small, single segment network. I use a private address space behind a Firewall which does network address translation. Am I right in thinking that I only have to install FirstSpot on a server with 2 nics, connect one nic to wireless access point, and other nic to my private network. Will that allow the hotspot network to gain internet access through my private address space ?
Thanks,
Tony. |

Thanks Alan,
And will my IAS server be able to authenticate users on the wireless LAN ?

If you use FirstSpot, it is FirstSpot that acts as a RADIUS client (i.e. NAS) rather than your WLAN client. IAS will act as the RADIUS server from FirstSpot point of view. The WLAN client will rely on FirstSpot completely on the authentication and it will not talk to IAS at all. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
