Post subject: Forgot my server name and password????

While we are a seasonal business, we shut down the server last November and now can't get it started again because of either or both of the Username and the password. How do we get it back up and running??

You can email me off line if there is someway to reset this. Or, do we have to completely reinstall the system????

im guessing this will work.
edit the Config.ini file in the c:\program files\firstspot directory

look for and put in these values to reset to factory values:

; username
;
user =firstspot

; password
;
pass =a03af780c0f2959f26512a2cc8c2efb6

Post subject: It worked. Need to change out NIC Card

We got it working, but it appears the network card has failed along with some other cards. Do we need to get a patch for a new card to work??

Post subject: a different network card

again.. i'm not with patronsoft.. just a potential (soon to be a) customer.

if the replacement cards are the same and are named the same you should be good to go....

if not then you gotta tell firstspot what it is.. the firstspot readme talks about this on point 9.... if you want to change the private or public network interface after firstspot is installed do these steps.....

hope that does it.

Frank, as bhhanson mentioned, the readme.rtf discusses about changing network card in details.

If you find that the steps a bit too involved, your best bet is to uninstall/reinstall FirstSpot.
