Post subject: Different user portal following SSID or VLAN

Hello,

Is it possible to configure a different user portal by SSID or VLAN - the goal is to have different VLAN's by user or event and then present a different portal by user or event ?

Thank you

regards

Jean

It is possible if you setup your network so that the traffic comes from different network segments. Note that FirstSpot works purely in the TCP/IP level, and can only recognize the traffic based on incoming MAC or IP.

Sorry to open this old thread.

To confirm.

if I have 5 AP's each with a different SSID which sit on different LAN segments can I direct the clients of each SSID to a DIFFERENT captive portal which all sit on the same Firstspot install?

Thank you

Yes, you can take advantage of Redirect File feature under Multiple Network Segments. Note that this feature is only available in Advanced Edition. Refer to http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/editions.html for more information.
