I installed Firstspot on an XP Professional machine, with 2 NICs.
The public card is connected to a router serving DHCP, works fine.
The private NIC -(Realtec8029) IP:10.20.7.1 - connected to a second XP pro client with DHCP client. Just with x cable. All firewalls are removed.
Config manager seems to be ok, can start the Firstpot service.
Problem: The client can not get IP adress from the private NIC - seems as no DHCP server runs - so no communication, no welcome screen, etc...
Can you please advise?
Thanks

We did hear report from customer that FirstSpot has some problems with the Realtek 8029 as the Private Network Interface.
What chipset of the network card are you using for the Internet (i.e. Public Network Interface) side? You might want to reinstall FirstSpot with Private and Public switched.
We are currently investigating the problem on Realtek 8029. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi Alan,
Swapped the two cards: Internet - Realtek 8029 , Privat NIC: Via Rhine.
Installed again - it works.
Thanks ! Brgds
