Hi,
We have an occasional problem adding users.
We use the Firstpot system to provide wireless internet connectivity to our customers by allocating users through the QuickAdd functionality, using a pre-defined plan that only allows access for 12 hours. We use the auto-delete function each day to remove users but can sometimes have upwards of 250 users in the database, even though concurrent connectivity rarely exceeds 50.
We have a bog-standard Firstpot install onto an HPDL320 Server, 3Ghz Processor, 3GB RAM, Plenty of free disk space.
Sometimes, when our operators try to quickadd the user, they get the following error message:
"Failed to update or add user"
Could anyone shed any light on what may be causing this problem?
Removal of expired users normally (but not always) resolves the problem, however we would be keen to resolve this entirely to prevent any delay in issuing user logons to the Firstspot system.
Thanks in advance |
