Authenticacion page doesn't show from 6.0.4

We're trying Firstspot 6.0.4 trial in Windows 2003 server environment. The installation was ok, but clients could not reach the login page. We didn't change any thing from default installation.

The client does not have firewall and the problem is the same from any browser (IE and Firefox).

Instead the clients can go to free sites like google, but when they try to go any other page (including http://10.20.7.1:5788) the receive and time out error like "" IE could not show the web page".

When client try to go http://10.20.7.1:5788/, we have observed the status bar of browser of the client (Firefox) show public IP of server (212.78.144.6) of server.

Any hint?

We are using virtualized Widnows 2003 with ESX 3.5.

We did:

Disable TCP task offloading in the registry of the host computer. To do this, follow these steps.

Warning Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that these problems can be solved. Modify the registry at your own risk.1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
3. Click Edit, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type DisableTaskOffload as the entry name, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click DisableTaskOffload, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type a value of 1, and then click OK.
7. Quit Registry Editor.
8. Restart your computer.

Also the configuration in the registry with deactivate is ok.

Is the problem resolved? Note that you first need to confirm you really have offloading problem. Please use the test described in http://patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1086 .

Also, are you using VMWare or other VM technology?

The interface information:

The VM technology is VMWare Sphere 4.

The FirstSpot works before 2 weeks. Then there is that problem.

FreeSites can be surfed.
All other sites can`t be surfed and no User-Authentication is showing.

Is it a problem with the VM???

Looks like your offloading setting is fine and already been disabled.

Did you change some settings recently? FirstSpot won't suddenly fail unless some external settings have been changed. Can you recall what software you install recently and try to undo it? Can you check to see whether our FirstHop driver is still bind correctly (refer to readme.rtf -> Other issues -> point 9)

As a last resort, you might want to reinstall FirstSpot.

No changes were made on the server.
Settings were not changed.

No new software was also installed.
The Server is working only with the FirstSpot.

The driver is bound on the visitor network.
On the other the driver is not bound.

Seems as remains to me that i have to do a reinstall!?

Trust me, something has been changed in your system. Software (unlike hardware) won't die suddenly.

One last thing you can try is to install FirstSpot separately in another system (or another VM). Try to compare the driver setup in Network Properties and Device Manager (View -> Show hidden devices) to see whether there is any difference in the network configuration.
