Anonymous Access

I am considering Firstspot for a Hotel network. The hotel management wants only one thing from firstspot: when a hotel guest first connects and tries to go to Internet, access is blocked and and the user is automatically presented with a web page displaying an acceptable use policy. All the hotel wants is for the user to click on "I accept these terms," and then that user/computer has access to the Internet. The hotel does not want the user to have to type in any login information or go to any specific url to get authenticated. However, the hotel wants that user to not be able to bypass the acceptable use page. There could be up to 200 or more simultaneous anonymous users.

Users are currently on thirteen subnets (vlans) managed by a SonicWALL firewall, which provides DHCP for them. I would make the firstspot server be the default gateway for those thirteen subnets.

It appears that firstspot will do just this. Am I correct in that observation? If so, which version is required, the standard or the premium? The hotel does not need any of the other features but this one.

Yes, Anonymous Mode can do what you describe.

For your case, I suggest you purchase Premium Edition, which gives you the right to run FirstSpot on Windows server OS edition. For the simultaneous users you mentioned, it will be more appropriate.
