Hi,
We just purchased the Advanced version 5.0 of the software and so far so good. The one problem we are having is that we need longer usernames than 20 characters. Is there a setting where this can be changed and if so, where is it located?
Thanks in advance for a prompt response! |

Hi Alan,
Thanks for your prompt response. We are running version 5.1.6, so we should have the 40 character limit in place. Perhaps the issue is that our Admin wants to use email addresses as the username, so possibly the @ sign is causing the invalid logon message return....???
If that is indeed the case, can that be changed anyhow to allow the @ character?
Thanks again! |

Alan,
Update: It looks like the period in the email address between the ISP name and type (ex: yahoo.com) is an issue as well. So not only would we need a workaround for the @ sign, but the . as well.
Thanks again! |

We've checked, and most likely you've hit the maximum limit of 20 characters in the username field during Self Sign-up.
For v5.1.6 users, please download the patch file from
http://patronsoft.com/firstspot/download/patch/517/authserv.zip.
Unzip the file, put lang.php into FirstSpot\authserv\lang and put signup_form_check.js into FirstSpot\authserv.
This patch will change the following issues in Self Sign-up process:
1) The two characters '.' and '@' will be allowed to be used in the username field.
2) Maximum length of both username and password fields will be updated to 40 characters.
The modifications will be included in versions after v5.1.6. |
