From the FAQ, FirstSpot is purely browser based. As there are many mobile devices in the market with wi-fi support, is there any special requirements for those mobile device to work with FirstSpot?
1. Symbian OS;
2. Linux;
3. Windows Mobile;
4. BlackBerry;
5. Palm OS;
6. OS X.
Thanks. |

No, there are no special requirements (as long as they have a browser). Most of the below platforms have been tested and should work well.
Having said that, in case there are some issues with a particular platform, just report it to us and we will look into it promptly. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

I just tested with a Win CE PDA and found the following symptoms:
1. The content of the info box (after successful login) cannot be displayed, just a browser frame with blank content.
2. After successful login, it will not be redirected to the original url, instead the a screen with 'The version of FirstSpot is a trial. ......... will be reset after 15 minutes. This is different with that showed in Win XP PC. |

What version is your CE PDA? We test both Windows Mobile 5.0/6.0 without any problems.
BTW, it is normal that the InfoBox is not shown. This is due to the limitation of PocketIE. Also, you should be able to surf after FirstSpot login (the redirection in your case is a bit off due to the trial version popup, but the paid version won't have this issue). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Please use your PDAs to visit http://www.seehowitruns.org and then post the indexes of the browser details here. You may need to submit new cases if it reports its database does not contain the browser versions of your devices. |

I just finished the test and submitted the browser details as '742'.
Both PDAs I'm using are of the same browser type when checked in 'seehowitruns'.
Thanks. |

According to your information submitted, the User Agent header "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE)" shows that your PDAs are using IE Mobile 6.0. We've tested using the same browser under Windows Mobile 6.0 and the InfoBox could be successfully shown (when using Instant Keywords, but it won't popup like normal desktop Windows IE during login).
Please make sure
1) FirstSpot's DHCP Server is enabled,
2) PDAs' IPs are obtained from FirstSpot's DHCP Server (choose "Use server-assigned IP address" in Network Cards option) and
3) The full URL with suffix (i.e. "infobox.firstspot.org") may be required for some browser versions. |
