|
|
Hi,
The server that I'm testing on is wholly inside our private network, which sits behind a firewall.
The public interface of the firewall is a real IP address, but the private interface of the firewall is 10.0.0.0/255.0.0.0 with traffic being NAT'd from our internal range.
Now, to trial IPN and PAYPAL, I've setup redir on a linux box that clear access to both private and public networks, and I've setup the PAYPAL notification URL to point the ipaddr:port of the redir port. What port should redir be pointing at for ppal_ipn.php to be called correctly from paypal? 5789?

You need to setup port forwarding in your firewall so that the traffic to your real IP (for port 5789) is being forwarded to FirstSpot Public Network Interface IP. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi,
is it valid to have a :port# in the Paypal Notification URL ?
ie http;//ext.ern.al.ipadd:5789/
I'm trying to get PAYPAL setup, and I'm not getting any joy.

Yes, your URL looks correct.
Most likely you have problem with your port forwarding setup. Note that if you don't have the paypal_txn.log file in the log subdirectory, that means PayPal traffic didn't get through at all. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi..
Found the issue. I could successfully telnet to the URL if I was inside the network.. but outside the network, the firewall was blocking..
Will test again after beating the firewall into shape..
