By design, FirstSpot has many threads (Dispatcher, DNS, DHCP, Apache, driver), so it will definitely benefit from multi-core CPU.
In particular, login, InfoBox, In-Browser Message will spawn an individual thread for each session, so FirstSpot architecture can take advantage of muti-core CPU in a high concurrency situation. Also, the latest version (v6.0.5 or later) of DHCP server also creates multiple threads for simultaneous IP requests. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

If you are using FirstSpot (v6 Premium or Advanced Edition only) under VM (VMWare or Hyper-V only), you need to make sure the CPU load is spread evenly across all of your physical cores/CPUs.
Refer to http://patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2808 for more discussion on this topic. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
