Hi,
I've got a problem with the DHCP-server in FirstSpot. It seems that if a client connects that previously has gotten an IP address on the wireless network card somtetimes this IP address gets picked up by the DHCP-server in Firstspot.
To explain this further I'll give you this example. A client has connected to his home wireless network and gotten the IP-adress 192.168.1.100. When he comes to the FirstSpot site and the PC or in this case an Apple iPhone requests an IP from the FirstSpot somehow he gets the 192.168.1.100 address instead of a 10.20.7.xxx as it should be. The entry in dhcpservice.ini is as below
[00-23-12-9B-EF-83]
IPADDR=192.168.1.100
AutoConfig=2/18/2009 17:7:33
The only way of getting rid of this "bogus" entry in dhcpservice.ini is to edit the file manually and restart the service.
Is this a known problem or is there a way to lock down the DHCP-service to just hand out addresses in a certain span ?
I'm running FirstSpot 5.1.4 with a reseller license.
If there is any more information you need please let me know.
Best regards
