WISP deployment

Have a Wireless ISP with over 20 base stations covering 3 major urban areas and suburbs in-between.
We set the bandwidth to be delivered on our Wireless Element Manager based on chosen plan by client - so the modem when sold is preset to whatever plan they have chosen (it can be changed on the fly)
We want to move towards user self-provisioning, so all we need to do is provide the network, the coverage/signal, and sell the box.

Client buys, takes home, hooks up, acquisitions the network, gets the portal, chooses their access pattern (it would be great if they could choose their plan, but if its just a timeframe, thats a start).
We use RODOPI billing system and it woudl be a bonus to have this all linked up if it is possible.

In any case, am interested to find out if your package can support 3500 clients and growing.

We do have some ISP customers.

Keep in mind though you need to do some customization with your billing system. By default, FirstSpot stores the user log information in a ODBC table. So you need to bridge the log information to your billing system.

Well RODOPI is pretty stiff in structure, they dont really accommodate too many modifications to how they work, or to their database structure.
The data however, is stored in an MS-SQL database so I suppose that bridging could happen on the back-end of it all.
It also is RADIUS ready, and I suppose that would also offer the ability to link up

Yes, you can write some programs in the backend to bridge/sync between FirstSpot and your billing system table.

Regarding RADIUS, it may not be that seamless since the RADIUS standard is a bit loosely-defined. Also, note that we only support Microsoft IAS within Windows 2003. See readme.rtf (within the trial package) and http://www.patronsoft.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1175 for more information.
