Hi there...
some time ago i asked for an easier solution for Scenario 3 which could be possible using a special 'client version' of FirstSpot on the remote Hotspot site or even better implementing a special firmware (OpenWRT ?) into the router. Are there any news about this issue?
I imagine a much easier setup on the remote site... the router could automatically access my central user database only for authentication and avoid passing all the traffic through the central site.
Is this realistic in any way? Any other ideas are appreciated.
Thanks & regards, C24 |

A lite version of FirstSpot is always an interesting idea. We are thinking about it but have no concrete plan at this moment.
Most likely we won't release a firmware add-on. Our product direction is to make FirstSpot to be AP neutral ( see http://www.patronsoft.com/firstspot/faq.php ). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Hi Alan,
thanks for your reply.
Anyway... in theory, would be possible to create such a firmware on ourselves basing on OpenWRT project? Or is there anything that wouldn`t work? |
