| I am having difficulty removing google off the welcome page. Google is not listed under exception free websites in the configuration manager, yet google images and google groups both work, google.com doesn't. |

1) google.com is listed as default. You need to remove it via Configuration Manager.
2) To customize the UI, please refer to Chapter 5 of firstspot_guide.pdf for details.
