Is it possible to allow a new user a set amount of free minutes and after those initial minutes are over, then require payment for additional access?
For example a new user logs onto the wireless network and the access controller (Firstpot) would grant that user free usage of the WAN for 15 minutes. After the 15 minutes has expired that person is required to sign-up for additional time. It would also be great if the hotspot owner could specify a time when that person could get those initial free minutes again, whether it is two hours later or two weeks later.
I suppose one could simply give out pre-paid 15 minute cards or something at their discretion, but I'd rather have the server handle everything. Mainly because people might want to use the service after the hotspot operator has left/closed. |

You can take advantage of "Initial air time (in minutes) for self sign-up users (blank means unlimited)" under Authentication tab of Configuration Manager. In addtion, you can use the option "Enforce restriction on self sign-up accounts" to further limit the self sign-up process.
Refer to firstspot_guide.pdf for more information on above-mentioned parameters. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
