Ok, If we decide to not purchase the "maintance contract" we just throw away $395 (standard edition) and get no upgrades??? what the heck is that? Usually you get free upgrades or discounted one's if u purchase a software product?? am I mis-reading this?

You do get free update when you purchase FirstSpot without maintenance. E.g. if you purchase now, you are eligible for ALL 3.x update. However, if you want to upgrade to the coming v4, you will need to have a valid maintenance contract.

then perhaps it would be financially bennificial to wait till 4.x comes out. I'm starting up my business w/o any exterior money only what small ammt i hope to make.. so gota start the cheapest method, and grow from there. thanks.
