Post subject: Mobile web and laptop web login pages different

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Advanced edition and just trying to configure the front end login page for the hotspot.

When logging onto the system with any mobile device the page brings up all the images and text as it should. However using the laptop (IE & Chrome) It is only bringing up the login box. Is there something I am missing in the settings?

Thanks

While mobile phone and PC layout is different, both will show login text box and image.

Did you customize the login page tpl file? Please make sure FirstSpot is working correctly using the default file first.

The TPL file hasn't been modified directly, Only some text, images within the "UI Customization" section on the Config Manager. I have tried using a default image to test and it still won't show.

This is not normal. Couple of questions:

1) Did you enable Multiple Network Segments? If yes, it maybe due to routing issue.

2) Can you clear the cache and try again?

3) When FirstSpot initially install (before any setting change), does this work okay?

If you still have issue, please email us a screen dump to firstspot@patronsoft.com

Multiple network segments are disabled. Same issue with cleared cache. Same issue on initial install. I have sent over the screenshots. Thanks

Did you enable "Free Access"? Somehow the mobile and PC page do not belong to the same mode.

Make sure you don't change the setting for the initial test. Please revert any setting change you did (except for the text change). You might want install a separate test FirstSpot to see first hand how FirstSpot supposes to work.

We review our page sequence, and it looks like your php/tpl files are changed or customized. Again, you might want to try to install a fresh copy of FirstSpot, and before any changes, try to perform this test immediately.

You can backup the FirstSpot setting using fsset.exe. It will create a file called BackupConfig. Refer to chapter 5 of firstspot_guide.pdf for more information.

Fsset.exe not running even when run as administrator. I have exported "ccdata.csv", "plandata.csv", "userdata.csv" and the license so hopefully shouldn't lose too much in the re-install.

That's okay. You can always apply the setting change manually.

Again, the key is before making any change, try to make some basic tests first.

FirstSpot re-instaled succesfully however when trying to jump onto the web configuration using [server IP]:5787, I'm getting a Forbidden error, I've tested user rights and it's not that. Can't see anything in the guide about this. Is there a file that needs changing manually? Thanks

Please go to Configuration Manager locally first (i.e. from the FirstSpot machine).

Tried that. Should there be a desktop shortcut or link within program files?
