Post subject: Users unable to login

HI All,

We had a server crash a few days ago and reloaded the server, via backup, to a new server. We configured the NIC's the same way as per the older server.

We got First Spot software up an running but the problem we are having is that users are getting IP conflicts all over the place. Some users work fine without any issues but most of them cannot see the Webpage to enter the password. They can browser google (free webpage) but thats it.

I can see the DHCP populating but the Status page I only see about 9 connections being Establishment.

DHCP services have been disabled on the server along with IIS and Windows Firewall services.

ANy ideas why this would be happening?

I suspect there is another DHCP server in your visitor network. You need to use sniffing tool like Wireshark to double-check.

Please also make sure you put any static IP in the DHCP -> Excluded IP list. Refer to chapter 3 (DHCP section) of firstspot_guide.pdf for details.
