You need to run the command under your FirstSpot\dispatcher directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\FirstSpot\dispatcher). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

But can you access the Internet in that FirstSpot machine?
Also, try to restart the Apache service under Windows service console. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Well, you can backup the whole FirstSpot directory (make sure you shutdown FirstSpot first).
But unless you backup whole machine, you do need to reinstall FirstSpot and copy the files you change over (e.g. config.ini and any file to customize). _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Again, please open the Command Prompt first, and then run fsapi.exe. If it doesn't work, please post the exact error message here. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

Well, the complete command is :
fsapi.exe update_usr_attributes username=testuser timeleft=240
I suggest you have someone that is familiar with Windows command line to help to configure this part. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

hey Alan,
I have succeeded in doing the timing of students, now i am observing the result i will inform u if there is any thing.
Now my problem is that my software is becoming slow for most of the time, and making it difficult for the clients to connect, and those who are already connected will keep on experiencing disconnecting cuncurrently, pls can u tell me what are the likely cause of these problems, because they are becoming too much of a burden.

Can you elaborate in more details the symptoms on your slowdown? We need to know which part of the system is causing the bottleneck.
For example,
1) is the ping from client fast?
2) how about nslookup?
3) how about CPU utilization on the server
4) or maybe the client needs to wait a while before seeing the login page? _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |

client can ping the server and the return time is not high,
the cpu utilization 50% or less, i am usin 4 cores,
the clients have a massive delay of an hour before the login page is shown, when the entries are entered it will take upto an hour before login and it will just disconnect. |

Maybe Apache (web server) issue. Try to add the following lines at the end of the httpd.conf file under FirstSpot\www\apache\conf directory.
Code: | <IfModule mpm_winnt_module>
ThreadsPerChild 512
MaxRequestsPerChild 0
</IfModule> |
Please restart Apache service (under Windows Services Console) or FirstSpot after making this change. _________________ ~ Patronsoft Limited ~ |
